Valid eucharist or profaned host?

The WHOLE POINT of gathering together around the altar is to be in communion with each other - .
…In various parts of the Church abuses have occurred, leading to confusion with regard to sound faith and Catholic doctrine concerning this wonderful sacrament. At times one encounters an extremely reductive understanding of the Eucharistic mystery. Stripped of its sacrificial meaning, it is celebrated as if it were simply a fraternal banquet. -John Paull II encyclical Ecclesia de Eucharistia

If it were just The priest and 1 other person recieving it would be as Holy as if a whole Church was full and everyone recieved. That is the point of the eucharist. Jesus poored His blood and body out for us yes, but also just for me specifically. Now I know I know wherever 2 or three are gathered in my name… but understand that the idea of community and communion is different. It is communion with God that we recieve in the Eucharist. We are The Body of Christ but that is not the same thing as the “Body of Christ” in the Host.

Actually, the graces you receive depend on your disposition, not those of “the Holy Father, the Bishops, your bishop, the priest and even the sanctity of the people” (people other than you).
That does seem to be correct. How can I attain full graces if I’m in an angry or provoked state?

Wanted to bump this forward. This is the time of year that the Bishp makes changes in the parishes and moves priest around. So many will be confused with the new situations they are faced with.

not enough info
if the priest did this during the consecration and changed the actual formula for consecration in the Eucharistic prayer he was using, no there was no consecration, no valid Eucharist so hence no profanity. This should have been reported to the bishop immediately with documentation.

If he did this during the Lord I am not Worthy prayer it is unorthodox but does not affect the validity of the sacrament, and does not profane the host unless he did something definitely sacriligieous like stepping on it.

If he regularly conducts Mass and preaches in a manner that reveals he does not believe and intend what the Church believes and intends in the consecration, then he should be reported and it is doubtful if his Masses are licit and his consecration valid. This is an example of true liturgical abuse, contrary to most of the petty things discussed here.

Impossible to judge without witnessing what goes on and more info. Suggest OP document things that are problematic and visit cuf.org the Catholics United for the Faith website for protocol on reporting liturgical abuse.

I would encourage you to read Pope Benedict’s book “The Spirit of the Liturgy”

The primary purpose of Mass is to offer ourselves along with the Sacrifice of the Altar in Attonement for our Sins. THAT is the focus of our Communion, our Communion with Christ.

Communion with Christ also includes Communion with his Body, the Church, but it is only when the focus is on Christ, that the gathering be in Christ than any other community can take place.

Ok we have a liberal preist whom I feel is a tortured and hurt soul. During Sundays Mass (supposed to be about the eucharist) He gave his usual feel good, “you don’t have to follow rules” and “pious people annoy me” homily about how the eucharist is not about Jesus but rather us. He talked with distain about adoration. BUT here is the kicker. During the consecration he gets down from the altar is and walks a ways doen the isle and says “This is the lamb of God”… and then we respond Lord "I am not worthy… " Then he walks a little ways more down the isly and does this again then to the back of the Church and a third time does this same thing. I was shocked and confused. I absatained from communion because I wasn’t sure what had happend here and there was enough doubt in my mind that I felt it was profane. This priest loves to go to the edge of heresy but just barely toes the line. Early in my faith this man was on of the reasons I believe today. However he is unconventional and sarcasstic, cynical and defiant. What should I do. Was the eucharist profaned by this grandstanding?
In my opinion he deviated the rubrics of the Ordinary Roman Rite or Novus Ordo Missae because nothing in the rubics or established rules that prescribes priest to walk on the center or around the interior of the church during the “Ecce Agnus Dei prayer” or any part of the liturgy (except processional and recessional).
While about his sermons or homilies on not following rules, that he hates pious people and Eucharist is not about Christ but the people are completely heretical. I don’t know the complete details about this case, but by reading those comments it is similar to the protestant theology. So one thing I may assume that he made himself anathema and heretic because a priest is pious and believes the Eucharist to be Jesus Christ, the reason of our salvation.
I am not an expert on this matter, but as a faithful man I can’t stand those kind of people who doesn’t preach true Catholic Faith.
