I respectfully suggest that you revise your opinion. I think that perhaps you are thinking of t-shirts as something grubby that only James Dean should wear.

Please take a look at this link to a Catherine’s large size fashions page which shows pictures of woman’s tee-shirts. THIS is the kind of thing I wear all the time (in fact, I am about the same size as the woman in the picture.) catherines.com/pagebuilder/SHOPPING_LANDINGPAGE?PAGEID=1676&cgid1=1808&my_nav=apparel&cat=tees%20knit%20tops&subcat=see%20all

These t-shirts are inexpensive, modest, attractive, and IMO, very appropriate for church. I don’t like to wear the busy ones with the pattern, although yesterday for Easter I wore a t-shirt with a lovely cheerful floral print in honor of the occasion.

There are plenty of other women’s tops on this website, but often, they are fussy and hot, or not flattering. (They look good on the model, but on me, they will be too tight across the belly, or too tight in the arms, or too low in the neckline, or the tie across the back will hurt when you sit down, etc.)

Do you agree that these t-shirts are appropriate for Mass? Thank you.

BTW, I haven’t worn a skirt or dress in years. I wear orthopedic shoes because of my feet, and I feel like an ugly old hag when I wear anything (also shorts) that makes those shoes and feet more obvious. If you don’t understand this, well…let’s just say I think a lot of women will understand. Even an 51 year-old fat woman with gimpy feet wants to feel pretty, OK? And skirts and dresses deprive me of that ability.
From a woman who is past 51, “plump”, and too vain to let my knees, ankles or hips show very much, might I suggest a tea-length prairie style skirt. It would make it really hard to even see your feet, let alone make them more obvious, plus it would allow you show that you are proud of being a woman since that is what God chose for you to be. They are also very comfortable!

The shirts shown in the link look fine to me and worn with a comfortable, modest skirt, I don’t see anything wrong with them. They’d be fine with slacks also, although I don’t prefer slacks on a woman in church (look at the rear-view of other women in your church - they either accentuate the areas of a mature woman’s body in an unflattering way  or are immodest:rolleyes:).

Thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt I’ll ever wear a skirt or dress to church. I truly dislike them, and I really don’t like long skirts or dresses at all–tripping hazard. The only time I’ve worn a dress in recent years was at my daughter’s wedding last summer–$100 dress, and I’ve worn it once–what a waste of money!

I think I look quite womanly in my shirts and slacks–believe me, no one will mistake me for a man! I do not act like a man or have any manly mannerisms. And my slacks are not immodest–I don’t buy the “butt-crack” slacks (yuck) or anything tight.
