I have seen several different versions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and I was just wondering if this was allowed/encouraged/neutral/forbidden?
They’re not drastically different, usually just variations on the same fire, cross, heart, thorns, and wound. What I mean is that one will have the fire coming out of the top while another will have the fire curving out of the wound up towards the top. Some have the cross coming out of the top of the flames, some have it coming out of the top of the heart itself.
Are there specific guidlines on this or is it just that these images must be there? What about the Immaculate Heart?
