I have questions. I was told by a family member that the ordination rite of priests after vatican 2 is not real due to how it was done and all the priests of today are not “true priests”. This is a start with the questions and want to clear this up with family member.
can your family member prove God gave him authority to make such a statement? if he is not a pope he hath not the authority.

My question exactly. As you are the one who raised it, how do you answer?
I got this article written by this person from a family member that has been grossly misinformed and is now changing things with their catholic religion that I am not understanding or agreeing with.

I had a lawyer tell me once that if you had the law on your side you argue the law. If you have facts on your side, you argue the facts. If you have neither, you muddy the waters. I have found that arguing with sedevacantists is a useless endeavour. Any attempt at cutting through the logical fallacies only results in a deeper dredging of mud. Suffice it to say that if the sedevacantists are correct, then the Holy Spirit has utterly and miserably failed, the Catholic Church is all a lie and we might as well go off in different directions.

I understand the attraction though. The smaller of a “remnant” one can paint oneself, the greater self-importance on has. Cults attract people because they are small enough to make people feel unique. The Catholic Church is just the opposite.

Rather than tackle this futile argument head on, I would recommend that you simply procede in Faith. Concern yourself with the basics, like the existence of God, the deity of Jesus, and the role of the Church. This article is like looking up a rebuttal to the appendix of a companion to St. Thomas Aquinas and trying to use that to rebut the initial doctrine. It goes the wrong direction. Here are some good links on sedevacantism.

Thanks. I think that answers my question and maybe yours.
