This is wonderful news! Blessing the child within the womb will give all of us a greater sense, not only of that child’s real personhood and presence before God, but also of our own responsibility to protect that child and help it fulfill the potential it has received from God.
 
Thanks to the abortion industry, the Church is giving us this new rite, proving yet again: “Where sin abounds…”

I read about this on another site and was concerned to read that some of the commenters presumed that this blessing was equivalent to a baptism of the unborn.

That is simply an ignorance - lack of understanding what it is all about, unfortunately .
