Vatican arrests former archbishop on child sex charges

*The Vatican put its former ambassador to the Dominican Republic, [Jozef Wesolowski], under house arrest Tuesday after opening a criminal trial against him, the first time a high-ranking Vatican official has ever faced criminal charges for sexually abusing youngsters. …

The Vatican has a few small detention rooms inside its police barracks, but no long-term facilities. …

The case has also been a test of Francis’ willingness to sanction even a high-ranking Vatican official for a crime the Holy See has long sought to blame on wayward priests, not direct representatives of the pope.

Francis has said no prelate, whether a priest or a cardinal, has any privileges when it comes to sex abuse.*

Thumbs up for Jorge Bergolio-Sivori !! Pope Francis had done the right thing! No one has the right to commit this crime. Now they should turn that bum over to the justice of the Dominican Republic, where you are guilty until proved innocent!

A couple decades in the sugar cane fields should suffice.

I agree. It’s a good thing for Pope Francis to be walking into the future and taking care of this most scandulous business. I must add that Pope Benedict XVI fired 400 pedophile priests all on his own!

The thought police seems very active and diligent on these boards. We were actually having a great discussion about this very topic in another thread, in which you were involved, but why get to the heart of the matter, why not scrap 4-5 pages of fruitful discussion and start a new thread that will die without pedophilia and homosexuality being discussed? Let’s call it friendly, mild censorship.
