How can the muslim community even think of asking for a mosque in Vatican city, which is the smallest country in the world with a populationa over there is only about 900 and most probably all Catholics?

What is the muslim point of view on all this?

I can answer this question as can most people in one word. Proselytizing.

When there are cathedrals in Mecca and Medina, then there will be time and room to talk about a mosque in Vatican City.

I don’t think they quite intend to ask for one if that is their goal…

When the Mormons announced the Temple in Rome, the entire congregation smiled and giggled as if it were a huge accomplishment.

I’m heading for the hills when they announce a Temple in Jerusalem.

Rome =/= Vatican City

I am assuming that the Mormon Temple was not in Vatican City?

God bless

Yes, I hope that people understand that Vatican City is not Rome or Italy.

It is it’s own country.

Their goal is not just to build a Mosque there, but to turn Saint Peter’s itself into a Mosque like they did with the Hagia Sophia.

There is an old thread about that somewhere here at CAF

I quite like the response of the Ethiopian Orthodox to request to build a mosque in the holy city of Axum. As I recall, leaders of the Church there said that they will allow a mosque in the holy city when Muslims allow a mosque in theirs, that is to say, in Mecca!

Apparently the Muslims tried to build a mosque there in 2003 and the local residents (almost all Orthodox) tore it down. Fair play, I say. I’m sick of one-sided ideas of “reciprocity” from Islam.

I would become pope, call a crusade, and kick them out, there is NO way I could let that happen. 🙂

I saw an article by a Muslim leader, the militant kind, who said two previous times they tried to take over the Vatican. The third time they will.

Barbarians. But ever so many who will take over the world by the wombs of their women…meaning their deliberately high birthrate.

So all the more I believe Mohammed was possessed as the effects of Islam are so encompassing…that when countries fall, most never can break free. NO human being could contact such power.

Spain did and paid a terrible price for it in the annals of religious history…they were plundered for 700 years, having a brutal history.

There are others who know that the followers of Muhammed afterwards wrote the surahs and hadiths of Medina…where you have the most militant perspective of non Muslims and of which other muslims reject…they pay the price of being called heretics. I believe now Planten is one of those part of the non-violent Muslim ‘heretics’…

No. I don’t even think it is in Rome’s city limits, but they were amused nonetheless.
Most of these mini-temple are only open a few hours each week…For the most part they are semi-dormant…

From this article sounds like they are still trying to get more tithing monies prior to it’s opening…

The archeology restrictions may be problematic as well…

Hi ,

I am a muslim. I have no interest whatsoever about building a Mosque in the Vatican. I have never in my life heared any muslim have such an interest ! I have no clue where do you get this information from!

Mosques are built so that muslims have a place to worship. No muslim wants to live in the Vatican let alone worship in it!

It is not Muslims who drafted the boundaries of the Vatican. Its probably the Italians. Muslims live in Rome and not the Vatican.

Hope that helps,
