Is the Vatican actually investigating the Medjugorje visionaries messages ?
I think it is high time that the Vatican dealt with this matter, as it can cause a schism in the Church. So many people are misguided and believe in these false apparitions and recycled messages .

I believe they already did and said the events at Medjugorje were not conclusive enough to approve it.

I once had a copy of the Maxim from St. John of the Cross, for discerning whether apparitions were true of false. Medjugorje did not fit the bill.

I’ll try to find the Maxim and post it in here, if I can.

I don’t know about the Vatican, but I do know that the bishop with jurisdiction over Medjugorje has said he cannot approve the apparitions as authentic - this isn’t a declaration that they are inauthentic, but it does show that he has investigated them and not been able to find enough that speaks in their favor. I suspect the Vatican’s silence on the matter means they share his opinion or are at least willing to defer to his investigation. After all, as many devotees as that apparition has, you would think there would be quite the stream of letters to Rome seeking ecclesial approbation.

I think the investigation has been completed:

catholicculture.org/library/view.cfm?recnum=7070

medjugorje.org/declars.htm

People keep bringing it up again…and again…and again…

The apparitions have not be declared to be false, at this time. So one may still believe and go there if they wish.

They CAN NOT be officially approved at this time because they are still ongoing. No apparition is aproved until after it is over - if it was approved now and then something false was revealed then what whould we do? It hasn’t been declared false because at this time no false teaching has been seen yet and/or nothing overtly has shown to show it being false.
These decisions are not aways easy to make, just be patient. Don’t be in a hurry to go either way, unless something comes forth that shows it is obviously false.
