i will see if it is available on audio book

i can’t read that well anymore 😦

I’m surprised that there haven’t been any thrillers written about the Swiss Guard, at least, none that come to mind. On the other hand, I don’t really wander in those circles, so there could be one that exists and I’m just not aware of it.

I do agree that Father Elijah is a very good book (though I’ve unfortunately only read the first third or so).

Heck, somebody here could write some. It would take some research and whatnot, but what doesn’t?

I like your idea. The first time I tried, I only got about 1/3 of the way through Father Elijah. My second try I finished it, and the book gets incredible deep half way through.

I can’t for the life of me remember the title of the book, but it was about a young Latin American becoming pope and he gets kidnapped. If I think of it I’ll post it.

Why would anyone need fiction when the fulfillment of the terrible visions of Pope St. Pius X is imminent?

Thank you for posting this! I got the book, and I’m loving it.

The author is part of the Catholic Writer’s Guild, that group has many find authors!

I read it years ago. I would not recommend it to anyone, although I admit it is a well written book

Yes, I did to, and it really disturbed me. I’ve always been a big reader, and this is the only book I can think of that I’m sorry I read.

Yes he was. Its enough to drive someone into a SSPX schism. If one is at all sympathetic to the traditionalist cause, as I very much am, I think it can be a dangerous read.

Perhaps spam on my part, since it’s not really “Vatican fiction” but more of general “Catholic Church” fiction, but I recently finished reading, for the second time, what just might be my favourite science-fiction novel ever, A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller. No idea how well-known this book is in the Anglosphere (it is unheard of where I come from), but for those who don’t know it, the novel tells the story of a fictional Catholic religious order, the Albertian Order of Leibowitz, whose vocation is preserving for the future generations the knowledge of our civilisation after its destruction in a global nuclear war.
