Father Brian Kolodiejchuk is the official postulator of the cause of canonization of the founder of the Missionaries of Charity. The story of the miracle that has permitted the proclamation of her sainthood. In 2008, a Brazilian engineer, who suffered from brain tumors, in a coma and dying, was healed through the intercession of the Blessed of Calcutta.

Pope Francis cleared the way for Mother Teresa to become a saint by approving the Kolkata missionary’s second miracle.
The Vatican announced Friday that the miracle had been recognized but didn’t provide further details. The official newspaper of the Italian Catholic bishops’ conference published a report online Thursday saying Mother Teresa’s canonization would probably occur on Sept. 4, 2016, the day before her feast day.

And about time too! One of the greatest examples of Christian charity, this woman was critized; pilloried and libeled by many who could not understand her charism or her humility. I count myself blessed to have lived in her time. Her ability to do God’s will all her life whilst having no internal communication; spiritual support or reassurance in her faith is a symbol of our submission to a silent God in a world of evil.
We can only emulate her humility of faith that survived this dark night of the soul and shame us in our demands on our Creator for something beyond the glass darkly to sustain our Thomas like faith, always looking for the proof of His wounds before we offer what He has a right to by our very creation.
May we have even a crust of her works to offer to our Lord when we come before Him in fear and awe.
As now a saint declared, she was always a saint to all who were touched by her hands and the hands of those that come after her in her order.

Amen! Well put.

I may be the lone voice of skepticism, and I’ll freely accept whatever barbs are thrown my way. I don’t think this miracle can be attributed to Mother Theresa. The family and friends prayed to her (well, lets say asked for her intervention with God on their behalf so we don’t cross any lines), and their prayers, ultimately directed to God, were answered. How exactly was Mother Theresa involved?

My doubts on this in no way diminish her extraordinary help to the poor, she truly was exceptionally devoted. I think we’re trying to hard to ‘award’ those in our lifetime (well ‘modern times’ at least) who have touched so many and have been the example of faith we respect and strive for (i.e JPII, Fr McGivney).

As intercessor. Like if you asked me to pray for you. God ultimately answers, but He lifts us up as cooperators. We saw this even in the OT when Moses kept his arms raised or plead with God to spare a city and God is said to have responded because of the intercessor.

Here are resources for those who wish to share on social media or wherever to the inevitable Mother Teresa critics that have and will come out of the woodwork during these coming days.

Thanks! My local news stations have been posting about this, and many are saying nasty things about her. Someone even called her a “demon.” 😦

No barbs. LOL However, I would let the wiser heads of the Church determine attribution, as they have. You may join the celebrations when you have finished your cogitations on saintly intervention and God’s immutable Will. I will leave you to argue the point whilst i go off to have cake.

As intercessor. .
source of my doubt. no way we can know if it was intercession or God direct response. just seems to me that its a stretch. do we need to make her a saint? ((rhetorical, I’ve not the energy to argue with blind obedience).
