What did they call Vatican I before Vatican II? They didn’t know there would be more “Vaticans” so to speak, so did they simply call it “Vatican”?
Like they didn’t call World War I “World War ‘1’” because they didn’t know there was going to be another. From my understanding, they simply called it the “Great War”.
