Sometimes flexibility is needed in order for there to be a more effective evangelization and also sometimes 'prudence ’ is another word for cowardice and hatred.

But flexibility is not the same as ambiguity, or inconsistency.

No one would accuse those 2 men who survived WWII of cowardice. But they strove for unity of doctrine, unity between for instance German bishops and Polish bishops, unity between last year’s priorities and next year’s priorities.

Evangelism, and attracting vocations, both require a coherent, consistent presentation of the doctrine of the Faith. My city has lots and lots of friendly, empty mainline Protestant churches. Nothing is absolutely true/false, or right/wrong, everything is “pastoral”, which often now means relativism. RC religious orders that have this philosophy have lots of applause from the media, but no vocations.

Try an FSSP parish or look for a non SSPX parish that offers traditional Latin Mass.

Flexibility is sometimes a good thing because it allows for the ability of the pastor to take action according to the circumstances as he feels necessary. There was the story of St. Dominic Savio. He was out with one of his friends and they heard someone use vulgar language. St. Dominic corrected the man and the man apologized and promised to be more careful. Later on they heard someone else use the same vulgar language. This time St. Dominic said nothing. His friend asked why he said something to that one man and not to the other. St. Dominic replied that he said something to the first man because he knew that his approach would bear fruit while in the second instance he could see that saying something would be a waste of time.

The Catholic church has approved many revelations of Mary as being authentic and “worthy of belief.” Look up Our Lady of Good Success, our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of La Sallette, our Lady of Revelation, etc. She warns us of corruption in the church, even warned of the “suicide of changing the liturgy.”

And that’s not one of them. Just because some things are worthy of belief does not mean every crackpot claim made by Tradition in Action that Mary supposedly says is worthy of belief. Jesus (you know, the one who actually was God) said the gates of Hell would not prevail against the Church he founded. He did not add, “Unless someone changes the liturgy,” which, by the way, has happened a whole heck of a lot over the last 2000 years.

Prophecy is adjudged worthy or unworthy by the Church. The Church is not adjudged true or false by prophecy. If it is, then the one that does it is a false prophecy.

Fatima IS one of them.

You misunderstand (on purpose) what Our Lady was saying.

You have posted a lot of your opinions, but I do not remember you posting anything authoritative? So, where has the Church ever said the liturgy cannot change or that it was suicide?

BTW, If Mary contradicts the Catholic Church teaching, she is wrong, or more to the point, the ones deceiving others or lying in her name are wrong.

When did it become OK to link to racist, anti-Semitic and sedevacantist websites?

I’m intrigued. In what way are these articles false? Please site dogma.

That’s unfair to her. You sentence without trial, even if we set aside the issue of judging. No way is this person a deacon.

How about the stupid statement, “the occupiers of the Vatican?” If a person is not in communion with the Pope in Rome, they are not Catholic. This isn’t hard. The only rebuttal is that of becoming a sedevacantist, which you may be, for all I know.

Pope Michael?

Do not count on coming on to this Catholic website and spreading falsehood without being challenged, at the very least. We do not like wolves among the sheep.

Seriously? You need cites to dogma to refute open and rampant anti-Semitism, racism and sedevacantism? The question answers itself.

In addition, you are critiquing the late Bishop, Ad Hominum. My concern now is your attitude in the presence of the RCIA people here who are just learning. The Bishop made a statement in truth which the Pope “did not disagree with”, therefore, nor do I as a Catholic. This Bishop last I checked died in communion with the Church, so there is no issue in regards to Peter’s advice concerning using him for my source. You owe it to the late Bishop to offer your opinion.

Your flaming. None of these categories are the issue. Yes seriously, the ball is in your court.

I am not criticizing the late (excommunicated) Bishop Lefebvre (who did not die in communion with the Church). I am criticizing the entire website, which is awful and un-Catholic. Anti-Catholic, really. I certainly hope and pray that no catechumen is getting any information from that website.

I am happy to leave the ball where it is - my criticism of this anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, racist website stands. If you want to try to defend those positions, knock yourself out.
