Vatican II and the Extraordinary Form

Many abuses entered the local churches I feel due to the ambigious nature of the V2 documents. The local ordinaries (bishops & priests) seemed to do as they pleased (like comunion in the hand) long before it was approved by ROME. As a child (bishop or priest) who is disobediant is bad, However a parent (ROME or bishop) who sees the disobediance and does not dicipline is (in my oponion) is more culpable of creating the dis-ordered family (church) thus making it more difficult for the young children (faithful) to get to heaven which is the ultimate goal of the family (church or any society including government). God punishes wicked nations with wicked rulers thus it is ultimately our own fault if things (church and government) are messed up.

Pope St. Pius V codified the Traditional Mass in Quo Primum. It stated very clearly that the Mass was NOT to be changed in any way, shape, or form. At the risk of offending some people here–which it isn’t my intention to do–Pope Paul VI did exactly what *Quo Primum *forbade. Thus we have the Mass of Paul VI, or the Novus Ordo Mass.

If I could drive, I would attend the Tridentine Mass every Sunday, but as it is, I can’t. So, I’ll be happy with what I have for now.

It was later understood by many per Trent and Quo Primum that the Canon of the Mass was not to change. Technically this was violated with the addition of St. Joseph’s name by Pope John XXIII. The Mass of Paul VI merely “restored” some of the earlier canons in the Church, but did in fact keep the Roman Canon as Eucharistic Prayer #1, albeit in 500 or so different vernaculars.

Hum no, that’s what the documents state. Why is that funny? And did I say it’s the official language of heaven? Don’t put words in my mouth! Latin is the “official” language of the Latin Rite.

And Jesus spoke Aramaic as did the early Christians…then the Roman Empire violently conquered and the religion took on their language…

Beyond a stylistic preference, why is the language important to anyone anyway?
