Same here–what is the point? We know that the images shown occurred in the sixties (not the I Love Lucy image), though most of the images shown occurred after the council had started, if not concluded. But what is the message?

I agree. It is an interesting historical video, but what is the video maker trying to say?🤷

I think it provides an important context for some of the Council’s documents, most notably Gaudium et Spes and Dignitatis Humanae. Just my guess, though. 🙂

The simple message I got was the last scenes; I believe that we saw the Vatican still there after all the other pictures. 🙂

I likewise do not know what the video was trying to say/show.

But after watching it I can say that when all that sort of thing was going on there was a general sense from the young people (and some not-so-young people) of the day and age that things HAD to change and that the Church ought to be part of it. Maybe that’s why so many externals changed due to “the Spirit of Vatican II”: People were looking for some visible sign that the Church could help people change the world.

Well some things have changed for the better in society and some things have changed for the worse. Vatican II brought changes but the Church is still the Church.

Both Church and society have eliminated some evils but they’ve uncovered plenty of new ones.

I still don’t know what the video maker meant to say.
