A Perfect definition of Zombieism.
That is, sub-human even as insects.

According to Mormonism, laity are also insectual.

Both of which are the extremes or perversions of obedience with denial of conscience and intellect.

In the end, Truth cannot be “redefined” or “Whatever” like some slang word in Western vocabularies.
Truth can be stated and defined - and in terms of faith and morals the current magisterium are the final authority to do so, not you or any other layperson. That’s respect for Christ’s promises to the Church, which promises he extended to the hierarchy and in no way to the laity.

The whole point of this thread, Lily, as stated in the OP is:
I just had an idea. Lets make possible canons that could clarify the confusion in the Church. Please this isn’t a game
Please no joking or weird stuff. Just a list of canons with anathemas in all seriousness to the problems of confusion in the Church.
example:

The whole point of this thread, Lily, as stated in the OP is:
I think a canon reminding all our mini-Popes here that authority is given to the ACTUAL Pope and Bishops, not them or their pet theologians, would clear up a heck of a lot of confusion, don’t you?

If any layperson or individual *not *vested with Magisterial authority should be so arrogant as to think that they know better than any Council how to define, redefine, reformulate or whatever ANY teaching on faith or morals, that presumptuous insect of an individual is themselves the one under the stench of heresy.
A little more precision with less ambiguity:
If any layperson or individual *not *vested with Magisterial authority (defined as becoming Divine) should be so arrogant as to think (ie see the obvious contradictions to the Catholic Church) that they know (from being taught long years by its Tradition, Popes and Councils) better than any Council how to define, redefine, reformulate or whatever ANY teaching on faith or morals, (and which they admit they are doing) that presumptuous insect of an individual (ie laity, no matter their conscience, is INSECTUAL) is to Shut Up and Sing.

(Otherwise defined as Zombieism, formerly called Mormonist)

The Extremes of Obedience
Since when has individual conscience ever been permitted to be placed above the teaching authority of the church? Individual consciences can be ill-formed or just plain wrong, the infallible mind of the Church cannot, otherwise Christ’s promises to it are meaningless.

Laypeople are not insects, neither are they Pope and Councils rolled into one.

Judas was a bishop and nearly all the heresies that have ravaged the Church throughout history have come from priests and bishops and several attempts by Councils containing large groups of bishops.
St. John Chrysostom said, “The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops!”

Why?
Because they have led so many to perdition by insisting on blind Obedience to bad teaching.

And who might those mini-popes be? Just curious.

Judas was never a bishop my dear - not even an umble priest! And I’d think the personal private sins of bishops are quite enough to send a great number of 'em to hell - no reflection on their teaching at all.

As for my comment about mini-popes, I’m not in the business of seriously reading the minds and hearts of my fellow men - certainly not on such inadequate evidence as their internet postings provide. Suffice to say that while priests and bishops are occasionally fallible, and yes, even local (not general) councils, my own private judgement is INVARIABLY so, so I’m still doing better by sticking with my elders and betters.

Well, you just said they were IF they think! All laypeople think. Therefore…
Individual consciences can be ill-formed or just plain wrong,
That includes BISHOPS…and whole groups thereof.
“The infallible mind of the Church” is contained in Tradition which is the safe Depository haven of infallible truth. “otherwise Christ’s promises to are meaningless”

If they put their private consciences above church teaching as Luther and Henry VIII did, they’re presumptuous (the ‘insect’ bit was just quoting a line from My Fair Lady if you must know 😃 )

NOT in their teaching capacity when united with the mind of the Church as expressed by Popes and General Councils. Three pillars, remenber - Scripture, Tradition … AND the Magisterium!!!

So, then are Pope SAINT Pius X, Pope Blessed Pius IX, Pope Pius XI and Pope Leo XIII of the Magisterium or not?
