A lot of posters in here are not comfortable with the fact that something awry is going on in Rome. They prefer to have their heads in the sand. That’s why this post is really rocking the boat.
A lot of posters here absolutely love and respect Holy Father Pope Francis. And his Pastoral approach to the papacy. He isn’t known as the Bishop of the Slums for nothing

Oh, I just stopped by because of the anniversary. It is now very late.

I see things have deteriorated here. Blessings, however, for you in Australia. Stay very close to your wonderful bishops…you are blessed to have such shepherds.

Cheers.

Father, why would the anniversary of the Protestant Revolt bring you back to CAF? Why not, say, a major Catholic feast?

Thankyou so much Father. My Bishop is a living Saint. He came out to the tiny Church to celebrate Mass with us on Fathers Day, and made it really special for the farmer dads and their youngsters.

God Bless you Father

Anyways Bill the B*** saved many men from those Turks.
I’m glad you brought that up, because I can illustrate my point better.

Are they commemorating that victory with the Turks (Muslims) of the Ottoman Empire? One group is celebrating and the other is mourning, so who is fooling who?

God Bless You

Might be nice if Pope Francis’ Vatican had commemorated Lepanto on 7 October. Without Lepanto, the muezzin would be sounding every day in Rome.

Both Turks who lost their lives, Australians, kiwis, Brits , everyone on both sides is remembering this battle in Israel. All who lost their lives. It was brutal.
Watch it on tv. Learn about our War History. All groups are remembering their losses.
We are friends with the Turks now. We don’t put Bill the B*** in front of the light horse and go charge our enemies.

So both sides get together to remember this battle, but for the Australians, Kiwis and Brits, it’s a celebratory victory against the Ottoman Empire because we won this battle, so how exactly are the Turks who were defeated supposed to see this “commemoration” with us?

It makes a joke of the Turks who commemorate it with us if they believed in the cause they were fighting for, just like it makes a joke of the Catholic Church when we commemorate Martin Luther if we believe in our cause.

God Bless You.

Stamps commemorate all sorts of things, including historical events and famous people.
I told my husband about this thread. He said, “The Vatican stamp office is in the business of selling stamps. You can’t just ignore the Protestant Reformation and pretend it didn’t happen.” Common sense as usual.

Have you heard of ANZAC day? Have you been to Gallipoli?

This is one of the most curious statements I have read, from an Australian. Given the coverage of Gallipoli every year. And it’s growing popularity.

But are you Australian? Maybe not.

Common sense as usual.
lol hardly.

“The Vatican stamp office is in the business of selling stamps. You can’t just ignore Hindus and pretend it doesn’t exist” So the Vatican is now going to make pagan stamps with the many false gods of Hinduism?

Thank you for reading.

Is not the Vatican stamp office under Vatican jurisdiction?

Why not have a stamp celebrating Lenin and Mao?

Or a rainbow flag stamp?
