Vatican Librarians

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I couldn’t work out where it should go.

I am fascinated by history and books so I was reading about the Vatican library. I was wondering how the librarians were, and are, chosen? Are they from a certain religious order or are they all secular priests? Are all of the librarians priests? Are they all Italian?
