It looks like they deleted this as it was clearly a monstrous article, celebrating eco-nonsense at the expense of human beings suffering and dying.

“You might very well think that; I couldn’t possibly comment”

Agreed. Just repeating to myself, “must remain obedient, must remain obedient.”

I was just about to post the same article! Sure they will, obviously the source is full of “haters” for simply exposing the truth

Here is the response I received from the feedback I left Vatican News.
We have received your feedback.
The article posted on Vatican News titled “Earth’s Unlikely Ally: The changes in human behaviour due to the Covid-19 pandemic are yielding unintended benefits to the planet” has been removed because it does not reflect our editorial line on the subject as indeed the hundreds of articles and interviews of these days published in all the languages of our portal demonstrate.
We realize that, while not in the editor’s intentions, this article has hurt the sensibilities of many readers of Vatican News. For this we apologize to all of them and we thank them for the way they are following our work in this difficult time of emergency.
We just posted an article underlining the Holy Father’s closeness to all those who are currently suffering because of the coronavirus.
Pretty standard newspaper apology stuff. My question is, why post the article in the first place?

It’s true that pollution has reduced in many areas and my friends have been posting stuff on how Venice’s canals are clean and other cities have no air pollution for the first time in decades.
However, all that is coming at the expense of some people being very sick and dying and other people having no money coming in to pay for food and other necessities.
Good decision to pull the article.

Because somebody got carried away and didn’t have their thinking cap on when they approved the article.
That somebody may be looking at a demotion or firing shortly.
Editors do make stupid decisions from time to time.

I doubt the Pope personally read or approved the silly article. One can take any Pope’s theology too far, and it seems that is what happened here.
