Why cant the Vatican send priests to every town to celebrate the EF Mass? i mean like now

people are hurting and thirst for the beauty of worship to God.

Happily, according to the article, they are dealing with that! 🙂

*The instruction, issued May 13, said pastors should approve such Masses for groups of faithful, even when such groups are small or are formed of people from different parishes or dioceses. These faithful cannot, however, contest the validity of the modern Mass or the authority of the pope.

“In deciding individual cases, the pastor or the rector, or the priest responsible for a church, is to be guided by his own prudence, motivated by pastoral zeal and a spirit of generous welcome,” it said.

The instruction said that, depending on pastoral needs, bishops should make sure seminarians are trained in celebrating the Tridentine rite, or “extraordinary form” of the Mass.

At the same time, the Vatican said the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei would be responsible for ensuring local Church officials were making the old rite available where warranted.*

Well folks, here in the UK I’ve already applied to the local parish priests and had my request rejected. My family just isn’t enough of a ‘stable group.’

“I have no intention of ever saying a Mass in Latin either in public or private. Phone St. Catherines Stanifield Lane Farington 01772 421174”

Nice, Father!

I then went to the Archbishop and argued back & forth - all in writing of course - & all the Latin masses we have are what we’ll get.

He still thinks travelling outside the parish boundaries is ok. Is this generous provision? Not to me it ain’t.

Until my family can ask and have the Latin Mass in the local parish to fulfill the Sunday Obligation, wherever we may be, for all practical reality the Latin Mass has in no way been liberated, freed or expanded in any way.

I asked what a ‘stable group’ meant and he simply did not answer the question.

Universae Ecclesia doesn’t apply here I guess.

Onward and upward … the battle continues …

I wish the Vatican will give the bishops no wiggle room to squirm out of things they are disobedient with.
