Common ground is sort of hard to find in the matter of living baby vs dead baby.

I agree. Either way someone is going to have to give in.

But whats just a few dead babies, right?

It’s too bad the unborn can’t be in on the discussion. This administration thinks of voters, not the individual and the rights of the helpless. Just like health care, we are supposed to think of the “common good”, only with the government deciding what qualifies as common good.

This worries me alot 😦

“Benedict and Obama are expected to meet in July.”
Brain, meet Mouth.

This is typical Obama; all this “we must work together” blather while ignoring those who disagree and pushing his radical socialist agenda. Even when he continues Bush’s policies (a la Gitmo), he bad-mouths his predecesor.

He doesn’t want “common ground”; he wants the opposition to shut up and do what he wants. Otherwise, they’re obstructionists. That’s more Stalinist than presidential.

He’ll meet Pope Benedict, but he won’t learn anything from His Holiness. Too bad–for him and for us.

But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 5:44-48

Wouldn’t it be more charitable to wait until the meeting has happened before passing judgment on it?

I’m not judging, I’m predicting.

by their fruits you will know them …

my atheist friend, whats wrong with judging anyways? Why do you speak as if its bad?
Here you have the President of the United States meeting with Pope Benedict and srlucado can only call names and make derisive comments.

Would you all prefer that President Obama ignore what the Pope has to say and refuse to meet him? That is, after all, what an actual radical socialist would do.

Thanks for answering the question…

Obama stance on abortion is clear and it seems as thou nothing will change it. There is no common ground on abortion, its black and white, culture of death or culture of life. I mean, I am still hopeful that Obama can have conversion, the Holy Spirit has that power.

Obama will love to meet with the Pope, and as with his address at Notre Dame, will use it to his advantage. He will, naturally, ignore any advice the Pope might give him, unless it can be turned to his political advantage, and serve to further split the Catholic Church in the United States.

So you would prefer that President Obama not meet with the Pope, but for mere worldly political reasons? Why don’t you have a bit more faith in God and Pope Benedict to change his mind?

Paul was not a Liberal politician from Chicago.
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So to them he addressed this parable. "What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

Luke 15:1-7

Yeah, but: Paul was not a Liberal politician from Chicago.
