John 13:16-17
16 Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.

God Bless you.
+Jesus, I Trust In You!
Love, Dawn

Lex orendi, lex credendi, right?

What’s that gospel quotation supposed to mean. Please tell me. Are you inferring this means that the Mass is not to be abused, since someone higher than the local priest established it?

This explains quite a lot.Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I wish they were more specific since many Catholic dont even know what Mass is to be celebrated in the right. For example I just came from Brasil and the Mass over there is not very Catholic. No Church I found holy water or Tabernacle. what we have is a bunch of chairs behind the Altar where priests and lay people sits. The priests vestiments are the poorest that is. sometimes there is a Crucifixion and some Church dont even have it. the people dont know nothing about their faith at all. They will get angry if you try to even tell them what the Church teaches. they even told me that I was not a Catholic when trying to tell them what the Church teaches. they dont even believe that the Catholic Church is the True Church. to them is just another Church like all others.

Yes. Mass is one of those things that is just bigger than us. KWIM?

I can’t say that I have ever been to Brazil, but churches here in the US are structured pretty differently too. I personally don’t care if things are more modern, or more traditionally structured, but to me, as long as the mass is centered around Christ and the idea that before our very eyes, the bread and wine are becoming His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. that’s all that matters to me. We don’t need to go adding things and going against the rubrics that are there. The man that created the Church obviously knew what He was doing? 😉

That’s the understatement of the year. This explains why the post vatican ii church (implementation of the teachings of vatican ii) has been a mess in my opinion.

Bad Masses Lead to Bad Faith
No kidding! I agree this is the understatement of the year! Just like the sacraments, the Mass is an outward sign that effects grace. Although we cannot fully understand the mystery, a much greater reality is present during every Liturgy.
