Cool! Pope Francis often celebrated the Divine Liturgy and is thought to be very “pro Eastern”, so this should be very positive. 🙂
 
Let’s hope this will not mirror the farce of the Middle Eastern Bishop’s Synod in 2010

Instead of complaining, we should all be praying. I pray that HH will relax the canonical requirement for the papal assent of new bishops in the Middle East, since our Churches are under such persecution and need their spiritual fathers desperately and immediately.

Ya marduk, I think you know what I’m going to say but I’ll say it anyway: Relax??? How about abrogate. Rome has no business being involved at all. And that includes in the Oriental diaspora. 😉

Oh, yes… “abrogate” is definitely my preference, brother.

I will pray for that either at the cusp of reunion or after reunion is achieved.

For, now, I ask everyone to join in prayer on more conceivable and realistically achievable ends.🙂

I am praying with both of you, mardukm and malphono, as the Eastern Churches are in such dire need of our prayers and the help of the His Holiness. Pope Francis is very tuned in to the Eastern Churches and I have faith something positive will come out of this conference. Blessings.
 
Where are the forms and QnA for laity for this Synod? I’ve got a few things that need correcting, and fast.

(I’m not holding my breathe)
 
I would love to see the Catholic and Eastern church united as one church 🙂
 
That’s scheduled for Dec with the EO and January with the OO. By Easter…done deal! 😃

I see he’s not wasting any time.
