Im not a doomsday guy, but it’s still interestig and I take Jesus’ words seriously, so Im hardly being delusional
Btw, is it wrong that some believe we’re in the end times and are motivated to be ready spiritually? I’ll never understand why some people get nearly offended at the mere thought of the world ending, its a beautiful thing.
To further blow your mind, if no one knows the hour, including you, the world could end tomorrow and you’d have to accept that possibility too
You just cant use thaf line over and over to give it the connotation you want it to have.

We have been living in the final age or “end times” since Christ ascended to heaven. What some, but not all, evangelicals seem to be hung up on is the end of the end times. It is not worth arguing about that exact day or hour, because we have the word of Jesus that we cannot know that. If you want to argue about it, like so many have for the last 1980 years, go ahead. The comparison that the pope was making was between Jesus and Eve.
Eve had no tradition. What she listened to was her heart, or more specifically to how contemplating the fruit of the tree made her feel.
The appeal of the serpent to Eve, and of Satan to Jesus, was to the senses, and to what would feel good at the time, rather than what is good.
It wasn’t a tradition of man then that was the source of the temptation. It was a carnal desire that is inherent in the human condition, whatever the traditions of men might teach.
In contrast, there was the word of God, that Eve demonstrated perfect awareness of, and that immediately sent Jesus into the desert upon his Baptism. Eve had direct experience with the word of God, and so did Jesus, who was summoned to the austerity of the desert by the Spirit. In both case, to partake in the ‘good life’ would be to dispute the authority of God.
The snake says to Eve, (to paraphrase) “Behold the tree,…
and how does that make you feel…”.
And Eve was honest enough in her answer that it made her feel pretty darn good. Jesus answered to the effect that it doesn’t matter how it makes him feel, because he was aware that God had a different plan for him than all that Satan was prepared to offer him.
I am not sure how ‘traditions of man’ fits into all of this.

This is true, but we are also given a large number of things to look out for to let us know when he is at the door, many if not most of these have happened or are happening. Many other religions recognize this.

I am not sure what the point is that you are trying to make.
Eve knew that God told her that she was not to eat of the fruit of that tree, so I would say that she had direct experience with the word of God, would you not?
