Will the Vatican’s upcoming inspection of US seminaries be a strong step in reforming the Mass here in the USA?

I certainly hope it will, but if it’s a whitewash like last time, I think I might join the Greek Orthos…

ROME – The long-awaited Vatican inspection of U.S. Roman Catholic seminaries, which was planned in response to the clergy sex-abuse crisis, is expected to begin in the fall of next year, according to Catholic News Service.
The Vatican will soon publish a three-page questionnaire as a guide for the visits to more than 100 seminaries and other American institutions that help prepare men for the priesthood, CNS said.

Bishop John Nienstedt of New Ulm, Minn., chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Priestly Formation, said that the issue of homosexuality is expected to be part of the review. The visitation will take up the question of “how seminaries approach celibacy and chastity – either in relationship to heterosexuality or homosexuality – or the temptations or inclinations people have,” Nienstedt said.’

I sure hope so. Maybe if they can get satan out, I wouldnt be suprised if tommorow hords of seminarians show up in droves.

I am wondering if they will make it to the seminary that I may be attending in a year or so.

Does anyone know if there is a schedule of where they will be going or are these going to be unannounced visits.

Bp. Nienstedt is a good man. Of course, he used to be here in Detroit, but the good bishops are always sent from here to all corners of the world, & we get stuck with the Gumbletons. I’m very hopeful about this review.

Wait why not the SSPX???

Don’t get your hopes up.

The Vatican is part of the problem; don’t expect it to be a part of the solution anytime soon.

As I recall there was a similar inspection about 10 to 15 years ago. Did anyone notice the big changes?

I think Michael Rose notes it in his book Goodbye Goodmen.

Today is not “10 to 15 years ago.”

The Vatican must know that good people will leave the Church if this becomes another white-wash…

Saint Michael, Goto the seminary and show the bishops what many have seen! Expose Satan and thow him down. There Are homosexuals at our seminarys. Throw them out!

i know a seminarian who’s brother left the seminary (benedictine abbey in missouri/kansas) because he found out he was gay. so, at least he left.
