Who does Fr. Federico Lombardi represent? The Pope personally?

He directs the Holy See Press Office, which publishes the activities of the Holy Father and of the Roman Curia, and he as director gives explanatory statements and speaks to the press when called upon. He is not the Pope’s personal spokesman per se; he’s closer to the White House Press Secretary.
