I was very impressed by the signing of the gospel by three Deacons at the Palm Sunday Liturgy at the Vatican today (saw it on tv). Does anyone know the particualar musical notation that was used and where it might be available?

Thanks,

Patrick

In Latin I presume? At our abbey gospels are always sung, in French. The tones used do vary.

Actually all readings are chanted at our abbey. Come to think of it, the entire Mass is always chanted, except for the intercessions at weekday Masses which are read on ordinary days and memorials.

My guess, although anyone please correct me, is that they are sung in one of the medeival chant modes but not actually written out word for word.
