The Economist (July 23, 2009) reports that many who have been descibed as being in a vegetative state are not in fact in one. They may be in a “minimally conscious state” which means that they should be kept alive indefinitately rather than being allowed to die. This is an important development for all interested in bio-ethical issues. The full story is given in the following link: economist.com/sciencetechnology/displayStory.cfm?story_id=14082037

Any form of euthanasia is not acceptable. The pain and sickness often experienced at the end of our lives are a good means of purifying our souls before we leave this earth. Indeed, i am convinced this is the main reason our bodies break down in such a way. Last Rites are also very, very important. Of course satan tries to do all in his power to try to stop people from experiencing a final perseverance.

“kept alive indefinitately”

What does that even mean?

Well, you can’t stop supplying basic necessities (food and water) but if the person needs extra measures (breathing machines) then you can stop those extra measures. At least that is my understanding from what I have read on bio-ethics.
