I’ve sung “God is bigger than the boogie man” myself while walking in the dark.😊
Don’t worry, I think we have all done that:thumbsup:. I also used to think it said darth vader instead of godzilla:p

What do you think of the children’s program “veggie tales”? Thanks!
It’s cute, my brother and sister watched it when they were younger, I was just a little too old to enjoy it as a child. You make me wish that I was born a few years earlier! :rotfl:

I love the Larry boy episodes. It’s always funny how Larry boy gets beat up and then Jr. saves the day. The Bad Apple episode was also fun as well.

Singing cucumber is pretty awesome, but the winner in my book is archibald asparigus for his famous quote,

“I’m not a robot…I’m British!”👍

I have. They were talking about families and showed two men as parents. That is when Sesame Street was boycotted in our family. 🤷
So our children should refuse to be friends with someone that has homosexual parents?

The children have no control over who there parents are. When kids get to school they are going to see other kids that have homosexual parents. When they get old enough to go to work they are going to see the same thing. They need to understand that whether we support these things or not, they are out there. I think we do a disservice to our children by pretending that things don’t exist that we don’t like rather than using these things as an opportunity to teach them what we believe.

Furthermore, Sesame Street is a program that is watched by children of every background, and so it includes elements from all of those backgrounds. That is not the same thing as forcing the agenda on people.

What’s next? Meth-mom and crack-head dad?

I am pretty sure they are not going to show CRIMINAL activity. I do not like homosexual activity and do believe that it is a sin. That being said, it is not criminal.
Oh, dear. ‘Criminal’ behavior is defined by whatever human beings decide to allow or ban in their society. (The Holocaust didn’t break a single law of the land in Germany, which is how the masterminds and those who carried it out defended themselves: not guilty by reason of not breaking any laws, and thus not a criminal.) Are you not aware that there are countries where drug abuse is not illegal and is even enabled by the government? Are you unaware that until the latter part of the 20th century, homosexual behavior WAS illegal in the US and most western nations? (It’s still illegal in India.)

Immoral behavior is defined by whatever GOD decides is allowed or banned. It used to be that in the West, God’s moral law was the basis for criminal laws. God said, ‘Thou shalt not murder’ and thus murder was illegal. Scripture tells us that anyone who practices homosexual behavior will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and thus it was forbidden by law. Now society rejects God’s positive law (the ten commandments) and natural law, and so abortion and euthanasia - which used to be criminal behavior - are legal.

So what you’re saying here is that you are OK with exposing your kids to immoral behavior that society calls ‘normal’ and having it introduced to them in an attractive, appealing way by cuddly characters you’ve allowed them to come to love and admire and look up to.

But you won’t expose your kids to ‘criminal’ behavior by the same cast of characters - breaking a mere man-made law.

Presumably, then, you’d ban Sesame Street only if the gay dads were on crack. But if the gay dads helped someone get an abortion - which is not CRIMINAL - that would be OK, because it probably happens in the real world and our kids have got to be introduced to it before they are old enough to deal with it (i.e., when they are still young enough for Sesame Street) and in a very attractive package, to boot.

Offend God - no problem; break the law and you’re not fit company for my kids.

Interesting viewpoint.

So…

Who’s seen Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas?

🙂

Another point is that you shouldn’t watch scary movies right before bed if you’re prone to nightmares. Which is a good thing to know, honestly.
Lesson to everyone: NEVER watch the Doctor Who episodes “Silence in the Library” and “Forest of the Dead” in laptop-as-the-only-source-of-light darkness. I… umm… made that mistake.
I agree that most Christian entertainment is corny when it’s not awful. I just think veggie tales is one of the best- if not the best- Christian shows out there for little kids. The best parts are the songs, imo. 🙂
What’s fun is getting those songs stuck in people’s heads while reminiscing about the show.
I think adventures in odyssey are much much better, plot, humour, and not over the top religious overtones.
I also like Adventures in Odyssey, but I must say I prefer VeggieTales. Although that might just be because of the singing vegetables.
Love it.
“Lord of the Beans” was hilarious!
I NEED TO SEE THAT!

I watched them as a kid. I remember how popular it was when I was in 4th grade. It is nice to have children watch something were they can learn good morals and Bible stories.

I’m in the bandwagon on no Seseame Street as well, but for me it is about their guests… Katy Perry and Macklemore(sp?) do not not need to be on a child’s program. I mean really we might as well see the Korean guy who did Gangman Style. 🤷

My children love them! Yes, they can maybe have a Protestant flavor sometimes, but not enough to make me stop having my children watch them. I actually enjoy them, too! 🙂
