Veiling images during Passiontide

I know this question is out of season but I want to ask if this is necessary to all parishes and I would also like to ask if you practice this tradition on your own households? And how do you do it.

No, it is optional.

Doing a CAF search will result in you getting over 20 resutls depending on the search terms you use.

Not necessary everywhere. My parish does. Don’t have the fabric to do some at home as donated it to the parish! But hopefully will again this year. I just drape suitably sized pieces of fabric over the pictures or statues or as my home altar area is small - just over it all .

We have always done it at home. The reaction of our children on Easter Sunday morning when they awake to find all statues unveiled and the house permeated with the scent of lilies is akin to the Christmas morning experience.
