Is it okay to ask St.luke of Crimea for his intercession , he is of the recent times and venerated in the orthodox church .

Do you reasonably believe he is in Heaven?
If so, it is fine to ask him to pray for your intentions.

One may, in their own personal prayers, ask the intercession of any deceased person whom one reasonably believes is in Heaven. The deceased person does not have to be Catholic.

Hmm didnt think of that. As a chinese growing up , traditional chinese do ancestral worship . Offering them food , drink , fake money etc. My family’s heritage dont practise offering things because of catholicism. But yea think i got my answer. Thanks bearself.

It’s important to understand that asking someone personally for prayers doesn’t mean you’re worshipping them in any way.
It’s exactly the same as posting a prayer intention in the Prayer Intentions forum on here and asking people here on earth to pray for you. The only difference is that the person you are asking is in heaven.
You don’t offer them anything in return for prayers or any of that. Just ask.
