VENEZUELANS GROW POORER (from Publius Pundit)This week, the U.S. declared Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s economic model an absolute failure and warned him against exporting it abroad. That’s the right thing to say, and obviously, they have looked at what he’s done domestically. But it doesn’t do much for ordinary Venezuelans who have been made poorer by the presidency of Hugo Chavez than that of any president before him.

Venezuelan blogger Gustavo Coronel gives an important description of how this Chavez model has created new hunger in his essay:* ‘The Venezuela of Hugo Chávez: The truth in numbers.’ *What is happening there is devastating.

CHAVEZ’S MINIONS SHIFT UNCOMFORTABLY

We noted that Venezuelan blogger Alek Boyd exposed some stunning tax irregularities among the chavistas in the U.S. here. Now, the chavistas are scurrying to alter their Web sites.

This blogger’s work the only accountability this regime has. See Alek’s expose and its aftermath here and here.

Depends how you define poverty. Some would say the wealth of a nation increases when more is spent on public housing, schools and improved sanitation in poor districts.

Certainly the wealthy elite are growing poorer and more bitter each day as they see the parables of the kingdom played out before them.

Victory to the Bolivarian revolution!
