Venial sin and Confession

Can someone tell me who the saint was who went to Confesson…nearly constantly, and would be out of the Confessional for like 5 minutes…and think another impure thought…and run back in? I really think that story is amazing…how sensitive that saint was to respecting our Lord.

My question is…when I can, I try to get to Confession at least once per month–and my sins are all venial. (at this point in my life, the glory and honor belong to our Lord)

Is Confession also for venial sins? I like to keep my conscience as well formed as I can, so as not to commit a mortal sin…it is a slippery slope, indeed.

Just wondering if the priests are annoyed (maybe that’s not the right word) by that, or can the Confessional be used for admitting such sins?

If priests are annoyed they shouldn’t be. Confession certainly is and should be used for venial sins as well as mortal.

Confessing venial sins and imperfections help us work toward holiness. Reading about the Saints, we will see they all go to frequent confession for venial sins and imperfections.

Here is a quote from St. Faustina’s diary of what Jesus said to her:
