Venial sin driving me nuts

No they just obsess over whether they meant that prayer they prayed when they were seven and get saved over and over. (ex-Baptist)

It sounds like right now the guilt is your temptation. You are being tempted to scrupulosity or despair.
 
You mean the priest comes to you to hear your confession or you find a way to get to church? If the latter, certainly don’t feel bad about “bothering” Father, it’s not at all unreasonable to confess every few weeks. Our priests encourage confession every 2-4 weeks, so if it’s already been 3.5 weeks, you are not being a bother to make an appointment. Mass and confession are the most important things a priest does, any administrative tasks that may keep him busy take a back seat to that.

I do agree with the others that the matter here is not grave though - if you knew all along that it was an illegal website, it’s stealing, but too small an amount to make it a serious sin.
 
He makes a special appointment to hear my confession before Mass. We lost our second priest a while back so he’s been handling everything for both churches in the county and the other church’s vigil Mass is right before so I try not to bug him unless I’m morally certain.

Oh no no no! If you’re seriously “serious”… then Houston, we have a problem!
I pray that the Holy Spirit fills you with the correct understanding, and guide you with the right wisdom, so that you may get back on track spiritually. CC has come a long way and it will always be here as intact by God’s Grace, no matter what. Please study more and change your perspective at once, brother.
 
One of the wonderful things coming out of Vatican II is some revision in the protocol of confession, particularly the form of the Act of Contrition. There were several new introductions that are acceptable in place of the formulaic version still used. I like, “Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” It somewhat mirrors what the sinner in the back of the temple prayed in one of Jesus’ parables.
My suggestion, say an Act of Contrition, (use whatever is comfortable) and go to Mass and Communion. All venial sin is washed away by doing so.

In 1943, Pope Pius XII wrote: “As you well know, venerable brethren, it is true that venial sins may be expiated in many ways that are to be highly commended. But to ensure more rapid progress day by day in the path of virtue, we will that the pious practice of frequent confession, which was introduced into the Church by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, should be earnestly advocated. By it genuine self-knowledge is increased, Christian humility grows, bad habits are corrected, spiritual neglect and tepidity are resisted, the conscience is purified, the will strengthened, a salutary self-control is attained, and grace is increased in virtue of the sacrament itself” (Mystici Corporis 88).

You should go to confession but don’t sweat if it is in a couple more weeks. in the meantime pray a Rosary, and rest in the Divine Mercy of the God who loves you and died for you!
