Hello everyone đź‘‹

If you confess venial sins in Reconciliation that have already been forgiven via Holy Communion, can you just say those same sins (I would assume this?), or should you prelude them with something similar to how you would confess past mortal sins (e.g "These sins have already been forgiven but I nevertheless wanted to confess xyzabc)?

You confess venial sins the same as any other sin when you go to confession.
The purpose of frequent confession, including confessing venial sins is devotional. It keeps you in grace and from committing graver sins. The priest provides guidance to keep you on your spiritual path. Even a person unaware of any committed sins can benefit from the grace of reconciliation since we all have areas of temptation in which we need God’s grace.
Our sins, and areas of sinful weakness are the substance, that bring about God’s healing grace.
