Thank you my dear friends, I feel very supported by your comforting words and your prayers. I’m trusting the Lord to breakthrough with His light and show me the way. I’m clinging to Him! God bless all of you! I pray for all of you, too! ~Therese

Therese, I am so sorry to hear this. My husband and I will continue our prayers for your family. :signofcross: St. Philomena, pray for us!

:gopray:Prayer for me has always been a wish or a hopeful request. I have found that for a prayer to be seeded properly, it always required effort from me.

I pray that you find the action that you alone must take to set your life on a different path. If it is not path of joy, I pray it will at least be with out the pains you now suffer.

Listen to your own heart and sort our your dilemma, hopefully arriving at answers.

Everything in our lives starts with the first step.

Werman:)

Courage therese. I will pray for you and I’ll ask God to light your path with a bright future and strength to conquer what you are going through at this time in your life. I know it is not easy I once was on that same boat so I know. However, I had no family nor friends to give me support so I relied on God alone and thanks to him I am out of that situation. So, do not despair there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things will turn aorund for you for the better. May our blessed mother, sweet Jesus, St. Anthony and St. Jude bless and guide you.

All are worthy who come to the Lord. Learning not to ask for help is part of the abuse.

Lord, bless this woman with Your courage to walk the Path you have chosen for her. Shed Your Holy Light on the Path for her so she see to find it and not stumble when walking on it. Send your mighty Angels to fight on her behalf, protect her from physical, mental and spiritual harm. Mother Mary, give her strength and determination to succeed on this path set before her and to disregard those who would advise her otherwise. Intercede, Most Holy Mother, on her behalf with your most Divine Child, Jesus. Provide for all her needs, Holy Spirit, that she not fail in her achieving her goal. In Jesus’ Mighty Name I ask, Amen.

It’s a good thing that you fell humble to go to mass in the presence of Christ, but I offer you this prayer:

Heavenly father, I ask that you give her courage to face this problem. I ask that you give her abuser wisdom to see his wrongs and repent for them. May you hold her in your glorious hands and keep her from harm. Amen. :signofcross:

Therezosi:

I’m sorry to hear the difficult time you have been going through. I’m praying for you and your husband as well.

Prayerfully,

Renato

I feel tremendous guilt posting this prayer request because I believe that we’re not supposed to tell, but I have become completely desperate. I cannot live like this anymore. I am becoming physically, psychologically, and spiritually sick. Please, please pray very hard for me that God will give me the strength and the courage I need to leave this nightmare. I am 44, I have been dealing with this since I was 22. I have tried absolutely everything, nothing changes, it only grows worse. I am so scared. I have not worked in almost eight years and I’m afraid to go out into the world. Please pray for me that I can find a good job so that I can become financially independent and pray that I have the courage to finally put an end to this suffering by filing for divorce and getting an annulment. My family, friends, and priest have all encouraged me to leave. My mind cannot grasp that a person could treat another human being in this manner. When these horrible things happen, I’m afraid to go to Mass because I feel so unworthy. ~Therese
😦 Sticks and Stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me! I do not recall who wrote this, but who ever it was did not have a clue as to how harmful some words can be.

You my friend will need to seek out some support help to make your break to freedom. Some churches have support groups and also some cities have safe houses and support groups. This my friend is one of the areas you will need to look for.

All I can do is pray you find a way of peace and a happy life.

You are not alone with this dilemma.

Praying to Mama Mary and St. Rita for you…

AVE MARIA, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

I finally had the guts to get out of my marriage to an abusive alcoholic at 47. I too was so scared about where would I go and what would I do. But I can tell you, everything has fallen into place with God’s help. It is wonderful to no longer carry that fear and depression. My life is good now. I still don’t date, but I am working on being the best me that I can and really working on finding out who I am. I know that you are scared. But God will open His plan for you. Trust in Him and he will open doors you never knew were there. You CAN get out and build a new happy life with God’s help.
I will pray for you. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing Terese,

I was looking up Catholic views on how to deal with verbally abusive spouses. My mom lives with his biligerant, combative outrages everyday. I’ve tried to tell her ways of dealing with it and she also thinks she has to stay in if because they’ve been married in the church for over 57 years. Apparently she won’t tell her doctor and i’ve tried to tell her she can tell them and they can help her deal with it.

And i know they can help her deal with it better than i can. I’ve also been trying for years now and it seems pointless. I don’t think my mom wants to use treatement as an option.

It just seems i tell her i understand and tell her ways of dealing with it, but she doesn’t take the real initiative to handle it correctly.

I do feel for my My Dad, because he’s is 80 years old and has been through so much illnesses and i don’t think he has the strength to keep self control, but my mom doesn’t have to put up with this.

I Pray for them constantly and hope there’s an answer soon.

I will keep you in my prayers and thank you for reching out, it’s helped us, who feel like we can’t do anything about our situations, know we can!

“St. Jude, during your life you encouraged early Christian followers to remain loyal and true to their faith, even during the harshest circumstances. Like these followers, this woman and her spouse find themselves in need of renewed faith. Time and the pressures of the world have weakened their relationship. Please intercede for them and show them the way to heal their marriage. Open their hearts and minds to rededicate a new relationship guided by the love and commitment they once knew. Help them put aside any negative remnants of past deeds done and embark on a new union, in accordance with our Lord’s principles.”
“St. Jude, please assist her in these difficult financial circumstances. I beg you to shine the light on the resources that she needs to help meet her debts and satisfy her pressing obligations.”
“Saint Jude, we have problems in our relationship. Beg Almighty God to give us the light to see ourselves and each other as we really are. Help us to grow daily in self-knowledge and mutual love, while at the same time developing our potential to love and be loved. Help us, Saint Jude, to see and root out every manifestation of selfishness, vanity, and childish self-seeking – those hidden enemies of love and maturity. Show us that by learning to love and being filled with love, we may complement and nurture each other as we share our lives together.”
Amen.

St. Therese of Lisieux, pray for us.
Bl. John XXIII, pray for us.
Padre Pio, pray for us.

You will be in my prayers, Terese.***

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

Please don’t stay away from Mass; you need it more than ever now. You haven’t done anything wrong, but you’ve had so much wrong done to you. Nobody’s “worthy”: remember that Jesus said that the man who was most justified in the Temple was the humble man who prayed, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” Place your sorrow, your feelings of unworthiness and your confusion at the altar, at Jesus’ feet.

You and your husband will be in my Rosary tonight, too.
