We are currently using the 7 step program designed by Phil L. and would like to know if anyone else would like to share ideas or support via this thread. Where we are, there are no classes or interest to start one now so we are on our own.

Anyone interested?

Something we have been mulling over is what you you do with your $2,000 emergency cash? In the workbook he suggests a moneymarket account but the bank we use charges for any withdrawels (as does the savings account). What do you think of keeping it at home for easy access without penalties?

You could always open an account with another bank. Check out your options and see who has the best terms.

Any bank that charged me for withdrawals would be considered a former bank.

2000 may be too low for most standard Mutual Fund Companies (Vanguard, Fidelity) investment minimum. However if you have other investment type assets there (IRA’s, etc…) they may link all your accounts together to waive the minimum.

Take a look at some of your options on www.bankrate.com

As far as Veritas, I’ve just made aware of it and would like to explore becoming a small group leader depending on costs, etc…

Working in Financial Services for 17 years (not brokerage), to me, much of basic education can be done for free and would hate to see people spend too much money on a program. With that being said, they may offer a valid low cost program. I don’t know.
