Hello chaps, I have a few questions pertaining to these particular verses and here they are…
Matt. 6:5-15
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
I attend a college and occasionally there will be men in the main walking area outside preaching the mercy and love of our dearest Jesus Christ. My question is what is the problem with this if they are trying to reach us a people and what is their reward?
Another,
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
I often pray in secret but I also pray in front of people, although it be silent, whenever I am about to eat a meal at a restaurant or the like. My 2nd question is why does it matter if we pray in public or in secret?
