Are these verses in Scripture?
“So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor 13:13

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” Gal 5:6

Hopefully those help!

Is “expressing itself through love” the most accurate translation or is “working itself though love” a more precise translation?

I grabbed the Galatians quote from an online source which looks to be the NIV version.

I’m pretty sure the Douay-Rheims translates it as “working itself” rather than “expressing”. I’m certainly no biblical expert but the Douay translation is probably the most accurate.

Have a great weekend.

Here is the definition for the Greek word in Galatians according to the Greek dictionary software I have. (Sorry, but trying to copy & paste the Greek doesn’t work, so I deleted the two Greek words - just looks like gobbledygook!)

(generally of supernatural activity) intrans. work, be at work, be operative; be effective (has powerful effects - Jas 5.16);
trans. effect, accomplish
