I guess I can pitch in a $1. 😃
You’re right though, it is beautiful.

We’ll start a charity to buy icons for you in particular. That would be fun!

But indeed, is it EVER beautiful!🙂

This is a pretty image . . . I really don’t think it should be called an icon (IMHO). Blue sky and stars in the heaven would indicate the scene is happening on earth. Proportionality and internal visual lines are more suggestive of Western art than an Eastern theological expression. Calling this an icon is a little like calling a Broadway musical a classical opera.

There is no blue sky in the icon he’s linked to. You’re looking at his signature, he’s talking about the one in the link.🙂

Ah, very sorry for being a picky prude! I jumped too soon and am now embarrassed.

Spent last evening with a “Western Iconographer” who sells his images as icons. He does not pray while making them, he does not follow the conventions of preparing the media, and he only plays lip-service to the ‘artistic conventions.’

I saw the signature and jumped to a conclusion. I do apologize

That’s alright. Sorry if I sounded rash!

But…he doesn’t pray? Eww.
