Your devotion to the Blessed Mother is a gift and Grace from God.
Hi everyone
Iām confused about something, and I really hope someone could give me some advice.
I just went to Confession this morning. It was greatthe priest gave me some great advice and I feel soo much better now and closer to God. (if youāve seen my threads from before, I was struggling with a couple things)
well thereās one thing that still bothers me. Itās sort of complexā¦
I recently wrote a poem thatās sort of a prayer to Mary, in thanksgiving for my Total Consecration (which was in June). At one point when I was writing it, I just felt really thankful that she loves us so much as her children, and I told her that her love for me is like a priceless treasure. Of course this is even more true for Jesusā love for me. I was just trying to find the right words.
Well last night, I was reading over the poem, and - I canāt decide if this is the devil or my conscienceā¦
I started getting these thoughts, maybe I shouldnāt have said that, because even though we SHOULD be very devoted to Mary, even though we should love her a lot, - it is really Godās love thatās our āpriceless treasureā first. Then I started getting these fears, what if when I wrote that, I forgot about Him, and so came to Mary āfor her own sakeā and committed idolatry? ah itās like the old Protestant in me againā¦this hurts me though cause I donāt recall ever forgetting about His love while writing this poem, and I do value so highly my ārelationshipā with Mary as well. Sheās very special to me.
Well today at Confession, I really coudlnāt make up my mind if itās a sin or not, and if these thoughts came from my conscience, or the devil. I had A LOT of things to say to the priest, so I made up my mind to just include this in a list of other (in that case) sins by saying: āI put other things instead of Godā
but now, afterwards, itās STILL bothering me. Did I commit a sin? Should I have told the priest in detail about it? if it was a sin, is it alright how I confessed it?
the thing is, I feel so much guilt, but I donāt understand how it could be a sin, cause itās TRUE that we should really value Maryās love for usā¦we should just remember that itās all for His sake first⦠to go through Mary to Jesus, not the other way around. And I honestly canāt remember anymore what my intentions were at that moment, whether I forgot about God or not. I feel like my memory is all messed up from thinking about this too much.
Iām sad Iām getting these thoughts, because I was so happy to go to Confession, I want to receive the Eucharist tomorrow soo much ,and also itās the Assumption today!
anyone have any thoughts?
Lucifer and the demons are very afraid of her.
There is no danger in being close to the Immaculate Perpetual Virgin Mother of God.
