I’ve been hatching eastern swallowtail butterflies over the years. They will lay their eggs on dill and many a mom and grandma have collected the caterpillars and watched them become very chubby, become a chrysalis, and emerge as a spectacular butterfly. They’ve been really hard to spot these last few years. If you want to give them a boost, plant dill in your gardens and flower beds this spring.

I’ve enjoyed hatching them over the summer and the kids and grandkids on the blocked loved it too. Great summer project. I might add, a pretty spectacular image of Jesus in the tomb and the Resurrection, and our own earthly journey here.
