In these photos, the Patriarch of Syrian Catholic Church of Antioch and fellow Bishops have a ‘mixed’ vestment,Syrian and Latin.

However the vestments of the Major Arch Bishop Catholicose of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church and fellow bishops are typical Eastern vestments.

No Latin influence!!!

The only appreciable difference between the Syriacs and the Syro-Malankara is in “choir dress” or “street dress.” And there, the most noticeable thing is the headgear, where the Syriac Patriarch wears a type of kamelavkion instead of the turban (I can never remember the name). And the kamelavkion is Byzantine, not LatinAnother noticeable difference is that the eskimo of the Syriacs is adorned with a single white cross in front. There is also the cassock, but there the differences are minimal.

Liturgically, the differences fade into nothingness. The same is true of Maronites and Chaldeans (but of course not for the Syro-Malabars), except that Maronites (unfortunately, but that’s for another thread) adopted the Miter in the 16th century.
