VATICAN CITY, JAN. 20, 2011 (Zenit.org).- The May 1 beatification of Pope John Paul II, presided over by his immediate successor, will be “a historic event which has no precedent,” says the director of the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano.

I am so glad that Pope John Paul II is going to be beatified. I believe he truly was a holy servant of God and that he truly did lead an exemplary life. Pope Benedict XVI is also a very wise pontiff and I believe he is doing an excellent job. 👍

Could someone please help me to understand which step comes after beatification? The next step would be canonization, right?

That’s correct. After a second miracle is recognized to have occurred due to his intersession, he will be officially canonized and raised to the alter as a saint. 👍

Wow! That would be amazing!

Anyway, glory be to God that he is going to be beatified! :extrahappy:

And how excited I am to be able to be there for his beatification.
A once in a lifetime experience.:dancing::extrahappy:
