Does anybody use the VidAngel streaming service? How do you like it? If you’ve seen filtered and unfiltered versions of something, how noticeable is the difference?

I just learned about this yesterday and my husband and I are interested in it. The basic premise is that you buy a movie or TV show and then sell it back when you’re done (effectively renting it for $1 for every day you have it.) The amount of customizing you can do for the filtering is very impressive.

They don’t have it for the platform we typically use to watch movies, but we might try it just to watch on a laptop to see how it works and if we like it (or we could hook up our laptop to our TV, I suppose - that’s not very difficult. )

Anyone else want to share their experiences?

VidAngel, in my opinion, is a great video streaming source, unless you are going to be watching movies every night. That could get a bit expensive! I have used it and I actually really enjoy it, the filtering is a good feature if you want to filter profanity or sex out. But, if you just want to watch the video normally you can filter out a swear word (or some other small scene) which will barely affect the movie at all.

When I want to watch it on a larger screen I just plug the HDMI cable into my computer from the TV and presto! It is definitely worth it, but keep it mind it can get expensive ($30 per month if you watch a movie daily). Hope you enjoy it!

I’m not familiar with VidAngel, but clearplay.com sounds more convincing although I haven’t tried it. But in terms of price, it costs like Amazon Video but in Google Play + the monthly subscription of Clearplay filter.
