hold on! is this in Rome? are these people Catholics?

is this the end of year for priests?

i already know that this charismatic movement has a strong holding in Rome.

we must flee from the impious men.

More Novus Ordo goofiness with a couple of Franciscans in the background who don’t quite have the windshield wiper thing down.

You know, if you want to do this stuff, why not just take it outside and leave the sanctuaries where the Blessed Sacrament resides silent and peaceful for the prayer they were intended for.

But of course, in the early Church they used balloons. It’s really all about going back to the patristics… 😉

Didn’t the high priest tie a balloon around his waste when he entered the Holy of Holies? 😃

we gotta give to the protestants who found a way to illude Catholics to worship like them.

they did not succeed by taking all Catholics out of the Church. they came up with a better plan. they brought their worship into the Church. very clever.

since they dont like the Mass, they sure found a way to destroy it within the Church itself. way to go Catholics.

Heh.

But in true neo-Protestant fashion, this can only be solved by prooftexting. It says in the New American Bible, 1 Cor 13:4:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,”

See that? Love is not “inflated”. So no balloons. 😃

Not all Novous Ordo Masses are like that.
I think it is clear from the post that every single Novus Ordo Mass is like that. Furthermore, since this happened at the Papal Archbasillica, the Pope’s own church, it is clear that the Pope expects that we should use balloons and the ‘windshield-wiper’ hand movements when praying at Mass. Hopefully, there will be dispensation from the windshield wiper thing when attempting CITH.

I noticed that most were doing the parallel windshild-wiper-together movement, like on buses, but the Franciscans were doing the windshield-wiper-separate movement, like on cars. So, it is troubling to see that a schism seems to already be brewing within the Lateran-charismatic movement.

Oh…my…word…in the Holy Father’s ‘own’ cathedral?

I think I recognized the song they were singing. It’s called ‘Alabare’.

It looked like the Blessed Sacrament was exposed on the high altar.

If I saw something like this inside St. Peter’s Basilica [and I happened to be there], I’d run out screaming!

I want to yell out, ‘Hey guys…the Sixties and Seventies are OVER!’

Sheesh…

When Louis XVI was crowned King of France in Rheims Cathedral, the archbishop shouted, "Vivat Rex in aeternum!," the doors were thrown open and the crowds rushed in.

*“People began to applaud, the applause grew until it filled the cathedral. It went on and on, becoming thunderous, and as it continued the fowlers loosed dozens of caged birds, which fluttered up through the vast space under the vaulted ceiling , their freedom the symbol of France’s freedom under the rule of the beneficent King.”
*
Somehow, balloons don’t seem so bad…

First of all, there seems to be little evidence that what appears in that video is in fact a Mass - a poster on the website where the video is posted states it was a prayer meeting, not a Mass. I was unable to see any vested celebrant or servers in the sanctuary. As such, it may not be to everyone’s taste. Second, to say that *“every single Novus Ordo Mass is like that” *as you did is a gross untruth and a confessable calumny.

If they were crowning a new Catholic king of France, I might may an allowance. As long as it wasn’t during Mass!

At least Tim has the courage of his convictions…wrong as they are.

It will be interesting to see if the other resident “spirit if V2” defenders chime in.

Nice shot , but I don’t approve of either balloons or loosed birds inside a cathedral. I’m assuming that since Louis’ coronation was pre-Vatican II you are ok with the yelling and the birds???

slaps face Oh great. I hope the pope doesn’t hear about this…

C’mon Tim, lighten up. Wasn’t Louisianna a French colony at one time?

What a disgraceful mass - business casual must be done away with as well. You should only be allowed inside the church if you are wearing a jacket and tie.
