is playing video games with a bit of voilence in it a sin at all. most games out there have voilence in it. i keep away from games that have impurity like nude or sexual things in it. but what about voilence. games are only fantasy but i have been thinking about this lately.

I would try to sort it out with a priest if you can talk to one and make sure that you are talking about the same thing (not every priest will have any first-hand contact or otherwise close experience with computer games).

Just the fact there is war or combat in your games can’t be wrong. (It’s not real violence and real violence can sometimes be justified or even necessary.) What could be wrong would be some excessive enjoyment, as if some kind of sick pleasure from violence.

The morality of violence is only determined by its target. Doing violence to an innocent human being is of course wrong.

Doing violence to a giant, scaly, wolf monster with killer electric powers is very much justified.
