Amazing! Pope Francis is really good role model and an example to follow.
👍

To be honest I’ve always wondered to whom popes confess their sins to, having analyzed how confession works in the context of the hierarchy of the Church (i.e. we confess to a priest, the priest confesses to a bishop, etc.)

He looks a little uncomfortable having the camera on him for this…shouldn’t this be a private moment?
It almost feels paparazzi-ish to me…
On the one hand you are certainly right about privacy; on the other hand, as long as they don’t come too close with the camera and don’t record his confession it seems okay, regarding the fact that he is setting a good example to be followed.

Great that he provides everyone with a good example.

Do as I say AND DO.

Confession lines were longer than usual yesterday. Wonder if they all saw that video.

Most priests simply confess to another priest, not a bishop. I would imagine most bishops also confess to a priest, just like the rest of us and just like the Pope.

I don’t think he looked uncomfortable at all. He knew what he was about and just did it. He made a it public act for a reason.

This seems to be the order of the day. If it were any other way the church would be even further accused of being “behind the times.” I can’t imagine how bad things are going to be privacy wise in another 50 years; ‘Big Brother’ will truly be watching

YAHOO thought it was “ground breaking first pope to confess sins openly”

What a wonderful example by our Holy Father Pope Francis. He proves even those in the highest ranks of the church still go to Confession. In fact during a small prayer related study group for Lenten, the priest on the dvd talked about Confession then later one we had good discussion going about the Pope’s actions and the reception of the sacrament too.

God bless this wonderful Pope Francis .

May we follow his example and receive the sacrament with true repentance .
