Viewpoints and living life

Good evening all. I am new here and was drawn here de to a question that arose while reading a great book by Father James Martin, S.J., The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything

It has been my experience that the Church offers a great foundation that many orders have built upon and have found ways to follow Christ. I have drifted to and from the Church due to how some priests have approached social issues, or have gotten political from within the pulpit. That’s one reason I started reading the book.

So what does this have to do with viewpoints? Well, I have been reading a lot about the Jesuits and I really enjoy their approach to Faith. The things seem to make sense better than other orders and priests I have experienced. So I suppose this leads to my question (a multi-part question, fun!)

So,

1. 
   *]Do you tend to align yourself with the way a specific group within the chruch worships?
   *]How do you manage it when your parish tends to bring politics into the pulpit instead of really pushing Christ’s message?
   *]Is it ok/acceptable within the faith to follow the practices of a certain group of the Church?
   
   Sorry, but I’m returning to the faith and have some questions, but have not yet brought up the courage to talk with a Priest because I don’t want them to be offended right off the bat.

1. Yes.
2. My priests don’t really do that much.
3. Yes. There are many religious groups, for example, each having their own “specialization.”

Scripture says that we all have different gifts, like prophecy, teaching, being leaders, etc.

The most practical response I would give is that you might try to follow an order that is the best match for the gifts and interests that you have.

My strongest gift (arguably) is giving. I don’t think I’m called to be a missionary, but I support missionaries around the world, as well as other charities.
