Vigil Mass Gift For RCIA Candidate

I know it’s still a long way off, and my 30 year old daughter who’s in RCIA might not even finish, but so far, so good.I’ve been wondering what to buy her if and when she’s baptized, confirmed and receives her First Holy Communion in March.
Most of the gifts are for kids and babies.

I saw a music box online that plays Ave Maria but it has a picture of a little girl in her first Communion veil. Not sure but I assume it’s not meant to stay there and is removable.
Would that be an appropriate gift, along with a rosary? Aren’t rosaries typically a traditional First Communion gift?

Any other ideas?
 
A medal or statue of her Confirmation saint would be nice. A rosary is always appropriate; it’s a traditional First Communion gift because it’s probably the child’s first one.
 
I would go with a medal of her Patron Saint or a Miraculous medal.
In our parish we have already presented them with a Bible as part of the process, along with a Catechism. At the Vigil reception we give them a rosary, a book of Catholic prayers, a framed picture of their confirmation saint and a large crucifix for their home,

Medals (good quality ones ) are cost prohibitive for a parish, but would be lovely and more personal from you.

A pretty, little painting or print!

My wife received a lovely print of St. Catherine of Siena, and I thought the gift was absolutely wonderful. A Catholic house should always look Catholic.

Another idea might be a little holy water font to put up by a particular door.

I talked to her about a rosary, so I’m Higginbotham and, if they still have it there, a music box that plays Ave Maria.
 
When do RCIA candidates make their first confession? Before the Easter Vigil?
 
I also read here that some Catholic churches do a full emerson baptism. Ours doesn’t. I’m wondering what my daughter’s church does.
Just asked her and they just pour water over the head. I never heard of a Catholic church doing full emerson until I read on here yesterday

As someone already mentioned, the church may have provided her with a lot of gifts already. I received at least one, maybe 2 Rosaries from my Parish, a bible, the Baltimore Catechism, a pretty candle, a crucifix - all of these things were wonderful and appreciated. What I really wanted for my confirmation was another good Catholic study bible, as the bible my parish gave me is soft-cover and I ended up having to reinforce it with tape. My parents got me a bible as a confirmation gift, but not knowing that there was such a thing as a Catholic bible, it wasn’t what I was looking for, but still - you can never have too many bibles - or Rosaries. A tiny prayer book she can put in her purse might be nice also - I keep one in there always so that I have the Act of Contrition when I find myself in the Confessional not remember what to say! Haha!

Ask her what she has received from the parish so far. Flowers are always nice also!

In your OP you said your daughter was being baptized. She will have her first confession sometime after baptism since baptism wipes away all sins.

I’d steer clear of rosaries, bibles, and catechisms since she may receive them during RCIA. If she doesn’t, then those would all be possibilities.

If you have a Catholic store in your area you might go and browse. Sometimes something will just appear as perfect. I like the idea of a good quality patron saint medal or a nice crucifix for her home.

You might also consider a subscription to Magnificat, Give Us This Day, or a similar publication with Mass readings, prayers, reflections, etc.

She has rosaries that once belonged to family members who’ve passed away but told me she wants a new one, so I’m getting her that, unless RCIA gives her a pretty one – she, like me loves sparkles.
I also saw a music box that plays Ave Maria I might buy her.
Another thought is a Willow Tree figurine that says “Faith”.
And like DAML suggested, we’ll probably give her flowers. Probably daisies since they last so long.
