I don’t know what channel you watch or what Islamic website you visit but I am pretty sure that majority of the Muslims and their clerics condemned 9/11 and other terrorists acts of their people. You can also visit sites like www.informationclearinghouse.info for alternative news and commentaries. manx
Myself, I watch and read the usually networks and magazines. I also try to check Aljazeera. The site you provide has an agenda, but I try to keep an open mind.
Point is, though: I have seen VERY, VERY few Muslims condems 9/11 and subsequent acts of terrorism. I have not seen American Muslims stepping up like Japense Americans did during WWII. Please provide links to the contrary.

Maryam V.:
It does seem you are very uncomfortable to a point that you are willing to forego your “love thy enemy” teaching. You are blinded by your discomfort that you’re making claims in the absence of proof.

Love and forgiveness…very good virtues indeed, where do they stand in relation to justice? Can one achieve love and forgivenes without justice? Is it justice to give the rule of the land to creation rather than the Creator?

With the way you wrote, it’s as if wherever there are many Muslims, Christians just drop dead every minute. I am in a country where there are no non-Muslims citizens. There are many Christians here. I see Christians and their families living in luxurious villas with many of them employing maids even. Many of them receive hefty salaries. They go around shopping malls, buying signature stuff. They go to their countries or whichever country they wish to visit yearly (others, twice a year) - airfare paid for by their employers. Contrary to the picture you wish to paint, Christians here live like “kings” and I do not see them dropping dead every minute.

Maryam V.
So you see Christians at the mall?

Do you see them going to Church in your lovely country?

I see Muslims at the mall in my country.

I also see them going to the Mosque.

I believe I would award you you “post of the day” Geezerbob!

All Muslims that I know condemn acts of terrorism. I joined a couple of Muslim forums before and I confirmed that majority of them really hate terrorism. They also provided me with many fatwas (Islamic verdict) and articles from their well known scholars condemning terrorism. I don’t have to provide you with links, just do alot of googling and you will see what I mean.

I suppose that you are correct but why wouldn’t you provide these links? If I were innocent of a particular charge I’d certainly happily provide the evidence of my innocence. Why the refusal to do so? Do you believe that Islam is above question?

Let me share some of the Islamic sites I usually visit. These are only some of the sites that were recommended to me by the Muslims:

www.sultan.org
www.islamqa.com
www.islamicity.com

If you want specific fatwas or articles, I will be happy to dig in and post it here. However, I am also open for correction from any Muslim in this forum.

Fatuma,

I hope that the particular face of Islam presented in that piece will become the dominate form of Islam.

Let me ask some questions:

Are you all helping to rebuild at least some of the Churches and synagogues destroyed over the centuries by others who also claim Islam?

Are you trying to help hunt down Osama bin Ladin?

Are you trying to silence the Mullah’s who call Jews vermin and who support the killing of innocent lives?

If you are I pray that Christians and Jews are helping you in your efforts.

I don’t know. I am not here to explain the actions of individual people or to speak for Muslims living in the Middle East. I am here to convey the message of Islam and to stop the lies that are being spread. You would have to ask someone else that question. But thank, this shows that you are paying attention to what I am saying.

This is a video that a few angry people need to see to clam down with:

Fatuma,

I watched the video, and I thought it was very nice. Then I started surfing the host site (malcolm-x.org), and I stumbled upon the following quotes of peace:
“If I have a cup of coffee that is too strong for me because it is too black, I weaken it by pouring cream into it. I integrate it with cream. If I keep pouring enough cream in the coffee, pretty soon the entire flavor of the coffee is changed; the very nature of the coffee is changed. If enough cream is poured in, eventually you don’t even know that I had coffee in this cup. This is what happened with the March on Washington. The whites didn’t integrate it; they infiltrated it. Whites joined it; they engulfed it; they became so much a part of it, it lost its original flavor. It ceased to be a black march;** it ceased to be militant; it ceased to be angry; it ceased to be impatient.** In fact, it ceased to be a march.”
“I don’t mean go out and get violent;** but at the same time you should never** be nonviolent unless you run into some nonviolence. I’m nonviolent with those who are nonviolent with me. But when you drop that violence on me, then you’ve made me go insane, and I’m not responsible for what I do.”
“Concerning nonviolence: …** It is legal and lawful to own a shotgun or a rifle. We believe in obeying the law.**”
"The common enemy is the white man."
"The price of freedom is death."
“Usually when people are sad, they don’t do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change.”
“A ballot is like a bullet. You don’t throw your ballots until you see a target, and** if that target is not in reach**, keep your ballot in your pocket.”
"I am and always will be a Muslim. My religion is Islam."
I have used only quotes from that site, and have used them with the context in which they were provided (bold and underline added for effect).

Be careful whose horse you hitch your wagon to…

Fatuma,

If this is addressed to me I want you to know that I am older and more experienced that you apparently think. I want to get along with others in this world also, but worldwide Islam has many things it must change. No other religion in the world is as threatening as Islam is. Yet, if you are representative of an Islam that is can modify the Qur’an in some consistent way and can actually be peace loving then I applaud you.

Indeed!! I’m not convinced that Islam can be trusted. But I’m willing to risk somethings in order for dialogue and eventual conversion to Christ of those who have rejected His Lordship.

Hello, Jermin.

My conclusion is simply that you should be careful whose face you present for your cause. In this case, a very nice face (video) was presented. Behind the face was a site full of rage, violence, and bitterness. The expression I used was an old, rural American expression - I should have picked a better one!

I suppose my conclusion is that if you want to show a face, make sure it’s not a mask.

Shalom,
RyanL

One thing I always wondered was if you get 72 virgins when you blow up infidels and relatives of pigs and monkeys and yourself, do you also get 72 mother-in-laws?

mr. shamsery it would be good if you provided some information instead of just trying to derail the discussion by posting meaningless questions.

every single terrorist act carried out by muslims today is preceded by they quoting some verse from the quran or by invoking the name of a moon God called Allah.

they must be something in the quran that they find justifies their actions.
